Global commitments, local actions |
17-09-2014 - SamoaObserver.
On this day two weeks ago, the President of the S.I.D.S Conference, Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi, issued a very important reminder to the leaders of the world who were in Samoa. Speaking during an event about the prevention and control of non communicable diseases, Prime Minister Tuilaepa told his colleagues that they have an “obligation to future generations.”
He wanted a concrete commitment from everyone to fight non-communicable diseases (N.C.Ds). He also highlighted that the major N.C.Ds affecting S.I.D.S – like Samoa - include heart diseases, stroke, diabetes and cancer among others.
