A Japanese man visiting Samoa, Makoto Omura, holds up what is believed to be one of the biggest fish to have been caught off the rocks in Samoa.
Weighing 27kgs, the giant trevally was hooked on a rock between Poutasi and Saleilua last week.
“We found a nice fishing spot on the rock that sits on the small black sand beach,” a friend of Mr. Omura, Toshio Suzuki, explains.
“At first cast, Makoto, Japanese from Auckland New Zealand hooked a huge barracuda (saosao) which crashed his lure and took half of it.
