Transforming Piu with biogas |
25 oct. 2013 - Samoa Observer.
The solution is a simple technology.
By feeding the vine leaves into a small biodigester, this problem vine can be turned into biogas, which can be used for cooking on biogas appliances and lighting.
In addition the system produces liquid organic fertiliser for crops.
By showcasing this simple system at Piu Village, it is hoped to introduce a new approach to modern affordable energy for Samoan villages.
While not all will have the vine problem, most will have access to greenwaste and foodwaste to produce the biogas.
